Legal & Privacy Information

By participating in or applying to our Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and disclaimers. Please read these carefully to understand your responsibilities, as well as the protections in place for both you and Sorted Collective.

Confidentiality Disclaimer

At Sorted Collective, we prioritize your privacy and handle all personal information, stories, and photos shared during the SOS application process with care and confidentiality. Information will only be accessible to our team members directly involved in the SOS project. Details about your project, including photos or specific descriptions, will not be publicly shared without your explicit, written permission.

Selection Disclaimer

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection for the Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative. Each application is evaluated individually based on need, urgency, and the resources available at the time. Due to limited capacity and funding, we may not be able to respond to every application. Selected recipients are chosen at the sole discretion of Sorted Collective and will be notified directly.

Limitation of Liability

By participating in the Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative, applicants acknowledge that Sorted Collective provides organizational support services on a voluntary basis and assumes no liability for any unintended outcomes or changes resulting from the services provided. SOS projects focus solely on reorganization, space improvement, and functional optimization. Structural repairs, financial aid, or other services beyond organizing and improving space functionality are not included or implied. Sorted Collective shall not be liable for any loss, damages, or injuries related to or arising from services provided under this initiative.

Project Scope Disclaimer

The Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative is limited to offering organizational support to improve space functionality and comfort. This initiative does not include structural or cosmetic repairs, renovations, monetary support, or services outside of reorganization and optimization of existing spaces. Any materials or products provided as part of the project are included at the sole discretion of Sorted Collective.

Non-Cash Value Disclaimer

All services and support provided through the Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative are charitable in nature and hold no cash value. Services cannot be exchanged for monetary compensation or substituted for other services not included in the SOS initiative. The intent is to provide direct support through hands-on organizing, and all materials provided as part of the project are not eligible for resale or reimbursement.

Right to Terminate Projects

Sorted Collective reserves the right to terminate a Serving Others Sort (SOS) project at any stage if circumstances arise that compromise the success, safety, or integrity of the project. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, safety concerns for our team members or volunteers, health risks such as mold, pest infestations, or other environmental hazards, unsafe work areas or neighborhoods that pose a threat to our team’s well-being, disrespect or inappropriate behavior towards our team, or lack of cooperation from the applicant or their representatives.

Projects may also be terminated due to logistical challenges that prevent the project from proceeding as planned, unforeseen issues such as structural hazards, legal constraints, or external factors beyond our control. If such situations arise, Sorted Collective will communicate directly with the applicant to explain the decision.

We prioritize the safety, health, and professionalism of both our team and the families we serve. Applicants acknowledge that termination decisions are made at the sole discretion of Sorted Collective, and by applying, they accept these terms without expectation of further compensation or services.

Volunteer Disclaimer

Volunteers participating in the Serving Others Sort (SOS) initiative must adhere to the confidentiality and conduct guidelines established by Sorted Collective. Volunteers are expected to respect the privacy of the families served and follow all protocols set forth by the SOS team.

By participating, volunteers acknowledge and agree that they are offering their services voluntarily and at their own risk. Sorted Collective assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during volunteer activities. Volunteers release Sorted Collective and its representatives from all liability and claims arising from their participation in SOS projects.
